Mac Miller would be “mad” if he knew he died following an apparent overdose, according to his trainer.
Celebrity fitness guru Harley Pasternak is still trying to come to terms with his tragic client’s death last week, September 07, insisting the “Goosebumpz” hitmaker, real name Malcolm McCormick, was an extremely “happy” person.
“I know people that are depressed (and) that was not a depressed person,” Harvey tells the New York Post’s Page Six. “This was not planned. He would be mad if he knew he died. He would be so p**sed off.”
Miller and Pasternak started working out together over a year ago, after the rapper’s then-girlfriend, Ariana Grande, recommended the trainer and introduced him to her boyfriend.
“Ariana was such an incredibly positive influence on him, as she’s someone who kind of lives a very healthy lifestyle,” he continues. “She thought that Mac and I would be a good fit for each other and he got hooked (on working out). It took him a bit but when he got into it, he loved it.”
Harley, who heard about Miller’s death less than an hour before a session with another client, admits he was shocked by the news: “He was probably the most loved person who comes in the studio,” he says. “Everybody loves Mac, he was always in a good mood, never ever in a bad mood… He didn’t feel like he needed to be the loudest person in the room, (he was) always funny, always lighthearted, and just the sweetest, sweetest guy.”
Meanwhile, according to a filed probate, obtained by The Blast, Miller had a will in place before his death.
He set up a trust in 2013 and executed a will at that time, naming his parents as trustees, along with a lawyer named David Byrnes to serve as administrator of his estate. If his lawyer can’t fulfill his obligations, he named his brother, Miller McCormick, as administrator.
