Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth Working on ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’-Inspired Series Album

“Beverly Hills, 90210” is truly the gift that keeps on giving: First there was the original Fox series, and then there were the multiple new series it birthed, including another classic ’90s primetime soap, “Melrose Place.”

The latest possible offshoot is a series loosely based on “Beverly Hills, 90210” itself, and it involves stars Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth, according to People. The magazine reports that the longtime friends have teamed up with CBS and are set to portray “exaggerated versions of themselves.” Plot details haven’t been revealed, but Spelling did tease the project via Instagram on Saturday.

“Great creative day yesterday,” she wrote in part, sharing two photos from the CBS Studio Center. She also added the hashtags “#90210vibes” and “#donnaandkellyforever,” highlighting their “Beverly Hills, 90210” connection.

Both Spelling and Garth have been happy to return to their “Beverly Hills, 90210” roots in the past. When The CW rebooted the series as “90210,” they were among several original stars who reprised their respective roles. Garth, in particular, appeared in numerous episodes, playing the high school’s guidance counselor throughout Season 1 and part of Season 2.

We don’t understand the specific “Beverly Hills, 90210” tie-in with the new project, but with Spelling and Garth reunited, we suspect die-hard fans will be excited no matter what.
